Tuesday was the hottest day for exactly 10 years recorded in the Lancaster district.

Yesterday the district enjoyed 14.7 hours of sunshine, hitting a peak of 29.6 degrees Celsius.

The last time we saw such temperatures was exactly 10 years ago, when Hazelrigg Weather Station at Lancaster University recorded 29.8 degrees Celsius on July 19 2006.
