M6 latest: Diesel spillage to blame for M-way crashes
Police say a diesel spillage led to a number of crashes that resulted in the closure of the M6 motorway at Preston this evening.
The motorway was closed in both directions at junctions 30 and 31A.
The NW Motorway Police said traffic was taken off at junction 31.
Trapped traffic has been released by opening lane three of the motorway and vehicles will start moving shortly.
Lanes one and two will remain closed.
