YOUNG Morecambe bands are illuminating the national stage and this weekend local fans will get to see the cream of our emerging talent in the flesh.
And the headline act at Friday and Sunday’s Parklife young band festival is already making waves on a national scale.
Liar Liar, who top the bill on the second day of Parklife, beat over 1,500 bands to earn a spot at the prestigious Underage Festival at Hyde Park in London two years ago - performing alongside The Pigeon Detectives and Little Boots.
Since then the four-piece has really begun to catch the eye with their energetic brand of indie rock.
They have a similar cool aura to a mid-90s Pulp. And with his shock of black hair and mod-punk swagger, lead singer David Murdoch looks and performs like a young Joe Strummer from The Clash.
