The concert will take place on Thursday, April 19, at Blackburn Cathedral.

Classical cross-over vocalist Linda’s performance there last year proved such a hit with concert goers that organisers offered her star billing as soon as planning for the event began.

Rosemere’s Louise Grant said: “Linda really wowed the audience with her repertoire of pop and classical songs. She made such an impact that regular attendees asked if we could invite her back. Thankfully, Linda accepted the invitation and will again headline for us.”

Also on the concert’s bill are BAE Systems Workplace Choir, Blackburn People’s Choir and St Christopher’s CE High School Jazz Band from Accrington. The show, which starts at 7.30 pm, will be compered by regular host John Gilmore, of BBC Radio Lancashire.

Tickets for the concert are free but as numbers are limited, must be reserved in advance by emailing [email protected] or telephoning 01772 522913. At the end of the show, there will be a retiring collection. There will also be a raffle.

All money raised will go directly to help fund Rosemere Cancer Foundation projects to bring world class cancer services and treatments to cancer patients living throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre, the region’s specialist cancer treatment centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, and at another eight hospitals across the two counties, including the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

In recent months, Rosemere Cancer Foundation has worked to bring the most advanced robotic surgical system on the market to Rosemere Cancer Centre, making it the first in whole of the North of England and only one of three centres in the entire country to have such a piece of keyhole surgery kit.
