A photographer volunteered his time to take pictures of disabled children and their families during a week long dream holiday.
Lancaster based photographer Jono Symonds offered his services to the charity, Caudwell Children, to support the ‘Destination Dreams’ holiday, an annual trip to Florida for children fighting life threatening illnesses and their families.
Jono, who is renowned for his work with high-profile music artists, said: “I got an email out of the blue from Caudwell Children, asking if I would consider being involved in the project.
“I don’t think I could have really imagined what an impact the trip would have on everyone involved, including me.
“Seeing children smile, sometimes for the first time in years, and families coming together is something I will treasure forever.
“I feel honoured to have been a part of something so special.”
Jono travelled to Orlando in December with the group, which consisted of 23 families, 35 volunteers and charity staff as well as a medical team of paediatric doctors and paramedics.
Jono’s images will now be used to create a special ‘memory book’ for the families.
