A five-star inn and restaurant has been named as a ‘Local Gem’ in the 2015 edition of the UK’s bestselling restaurant guide.
For the first time, The Sun Inn in Kirkby Lonsdale has been listed in The Good Food Guide.
The Local Gems section highlights “those perfect neighbourhood entries that we all wish we had on our doorsteps”.
The 17th century Sun Inn recently unveiled a newly-styled restaurant, Carter at the Sun Inn – named after head chef Sam Carter.
Owner Mark Fuller said: “It’s great to be included in the Good Food Guide for the first time. We’re passionate about using fresh, seasonal ingredients and providing some mouth-watering flavours for people to enjoy.
“What’s really special about this news is the fact that customer recommendations have played such an important part in selecting the entries for the guide.”
The Good Food Guide is compiled from scratch each year and is a combination of reader recommendations and anonymous, expert inspections.
