Humour, wordplay and art combine in an exhibition of work by a Morecambe artist at The Dukes this month.

The Beauty of Misapprehension by Neil Wilson features paintings from his House of Tarkus series.

Brought up in Manchester, Neil first arrived in Lancaster in 1976 to take a foundation studies course in art and design at the Storey Institute, before studying for a degree at Trent Polytechnic.

He has been a member of Luneside Studios in Lancaster for more than a decade, and exhibited with other Luneside artists at The Dukes gallery earlier this year.

Neil divides his time between his studio and working for the NHS as an art therapist.

The Beauty of Misapprehension runs until September 30 at The Dukes gallery which is open from 10am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.
