Johnny Phere from our resort will battle Chris Ridgeway from across the Bay in the main event of Alpha Omega Wrestling ‘Vendetta’ at the historic theatre.

Former heavyweight champion Phere, known as ‘The Psychotic Warrior’, will be the crowd favourite against the cocky ‘Priority’ from Cumbria.

Ridgeway though will be gunning for revenge on behalf of his manager, Greg ‘The Truth’ Lambert.

The last show at the Winter Gardens in May ended with Phere getting his hands on non-wrestler Lambert.

The intense star then delighted the fans by delivering his trademark ‘Ram Slam’ to the bespectacled journalist.

Greg suffered a minor arm injury from a bad landing and claims that he is being forced to miss the Vendetta show “on doctors’ orders” so will not be at ringside this Saturday.

Ridgeway is on a hot streak at the Winter Gardens and is coming off a hugely impressive victory over another former champion, Craig Kollins.

The talented ‘Riddy’ defeated ‘The One Man Riot’ making him pass out to his submission hold the Bear Tooth Clutch when they met at the Winter Gardens in March.

Kollins, a former protege of Phere’s, has since undergone shoulder surgery and is out of the ring indefinitely.

“This first-time ever match between Phere and Ridgeway will see an exciting clash of styles and philosophies,” said promoter Charles Nelson Riley.

“Phere is the main man of the Morecambe ring and has been for many years. Ridgeway is the up-and-coming upstart with a bad attitude and natural talent. The fact they can’t stand each other will add extra spice and the fans are going to love this match.”

In other matches at Saturday’s show, Lana Austin will battle debutant Violet Vendetta in women’s action, James Drake faces Unsexy Kev, the unlikely tag team of the massive Cyanide and the masked cruiserweight Solar will battle Jason Prime and a mystery opponent, RJM takes on Barricade, and the AOW-UK Tag Team Titles are on the line as The Referendum defend against Danny Hope and Joey Hayes.
