More Music opened their doors to provide an opportunity for people to learn more about what More Music do and to ‘have a go.’

It was also the place for West End Fun Palace as The Hothouse in Morecambe and The Exchange Creative Community on West Street became the lively playground for the day on Saturday October 1. Visitors delved into pendulum painting (best described as a big time spirograph/Jackson Pollock mashup), origami workshops, a dress-up as a scientists photo booth, an instrument-making (saxotubes), rock balancing, face painting and more.

Live music was provided by the Melting Pot open mic stage, and local songwriter Frenchie was on hand to help write and perform scientific songs.

There was also Bleep! - an audio-visual installation using effects, filters, loops and samples.

Outside the East Street Gamelan, a large musical sculpture made of junk percussion greeted visitors, which could be played.

The Creative Exchange experience included Magenta Monocle’s magical beach hut, make a kaleidoscope, have your arm marbled or build a potato clock.
