Young swimmers impress and break previous record

Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club swimmers competed in Manchester against the county's best to achieve a record number of championship final qualifications and personal best performances.

Robin Austin qualified for three finals, finishing fourth in the 100m breaststroke and fifth in the 50m butterfly.

Rio Quarry was outstanding in his two county finals, finishing third in the county in the 100m breaststroke as well as third in the 100m breaststroke recording two exceptional PBs for these events. He also swam the 50m freestyle in a little over 28s for another big PB.

Isaac Quarry swam brilliantly in his 50m breaststroke final to record a PB and finish eighth fastest in the county.

Toby Easton got a good PB in the 50m freestyle and advanced well up the county rankings with his time. Abbie Catlow got a great PB in the 50m freestyle and also moved up the county rankings. Elizabeth Wareing achieved four PBs in her seven events taking a huge 3s off her 200Im time. Daniel Leach performed really well to get two big PBs off his 50m fly and 50m freestyle times to finish 11th and 17th in the county.
