The Jaguars edged the first quarter but the Bulldogs pulled them back in the second with Bulldogs’ ball carrier Alex Johnson to the fore as the teams were level 29-29 at the break at Salt Ayre Sports Centre.

Bulldogs have suffered from poor third-quarter performances in previous games but came out to take an eight-point lead and continued the momentum, hitting two baskets to every one for the opposition,

McGregor inflicted the most damage with 12 points, scoring mainly from under the target as the Bulldogs ended the period 51-36 in front.

Expecting the opposition to push in the last quarter the teams matched each other point for point with the home side finishing the stronger as the Jaguars rushed to salvage something.

It was all in vain though as the Bulldogs prevailed to get a measure of revenge for a 78-17 defeat earlier in the season.
