A statement on the Vale of Lune website read: “Everyone at the Vale of Lune send their best wishes to Carlisle Rugby Club as they tackle a massive clear up operation yet again.
“Our thoughts are not only with our long standing friends at Carlisle Rugby Club but those many thousands of people throughout Cumbria, and our own particular patch in North Lancashire, who have had to contend with such horrendous weather conditions and its aftermath.”
Vale’s game at home to Widnes last Saturday was postponed due to the wet weather.
