It was another exciting weekend for the Hannam siblings as Georgia and Shea travelled to Solihull for the National Triathlon Championships.

Saturday saw 13-year-old Shea compete in the modern pentathlon event which consisted of a 10 shot static shoot, a 100m swim and then the combined event where in the under 15s had to knock down five targets followed by an 800m run twice.

After the static shoot Shea was in fifth place before a personal best on the swim took him into third.

Sheer determination on the combined event and a brilliant run then helped Shea to second place overall.

Sunday was chance for 15-year-old Georgia to show what she could do, knowing that there were plenty of strong contenders in the under 17 event.

It consisted of a 10 shot static shoot, a 200m swim and then a combined event, consisting of five drop down targets, an 800m run three times.

A good shot put Georgia in seventh place before another personal best in the swim moved her up to fourth. A fantastic run on the combined event then gave Georgia third place overall.

Georgia’s top three place finish gained her a place on the World Class Talent ID Camp for Modern Pentathlon.
