The popular light-heavyweight will meet Barrow’s Liam Conroy at the Manchester Arena on September 24 on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s world title unification clash against Jorge Linares.

Tatham’s meeting with fellow rising star Conroy has been put forward to the British Boxing Board of Control to be an official eliminator for the British title.

It all means September 24 looks set to be the biggest night in Lancaster and Morecambe boxing history with Westgate Warrior Isaac Lowe already set to defend his Commonwealth Featherweight title against Tshifhiwa Munyai on the Sky Sports-televised bill.

Tatham blasted away Eric Mokonzo inside five rounds in March to land the International Challenge belt, the 11th win of the 27-year-old’s professional career and fifth inside the distance.

Both Bentham’s ‘TNT’ and Conroy have designs on facing unbeaten British champion Hosea Burton with the 23-year-old Cumbrian having landed the WBC Youth Silver title last month in Preston with a fourth round stoppage win over Ferenc Albert.
