Table tennis: Solid performances from juniors in regional league

The district’s table tennis teams have had a satisfactory season in the North West Junior League.

The Morecambe team of Matthew Cooke, Aiden Branch and Nathan Beamer have made their mark at regional level and are climbing the England ranking ladder.

Their first match on the final round of matches against Kendal resulted in a fine 6-0 win.

In the following match Beamer took man of the match in a 3-3- draw against a talented Oldham team from Greater Manchester.

Beamer and Branch each finished the last match against local rivals Garstang with 100 per cent match records in their 5-1 victory.

Lancaster started the day with a comfortable 6-0 win against the second Kendal team.

Abinhav Sinha, Adam Ordonez and Hudson Nuttall then went on to defeat the Garstang B team 6-0, followed by the same result against the Kendal second string team.

The results mean that Morecambe finish fifth and Lancaster sixth in the final standings of the 10-team division.
