Great Wood under 11 girls beat the county champions from Cheshire in a convincing 8-0 victory, with all four girls winning their two matches 3-0 each in what was a completely dominant display. Great Wood under 11 boys beat county champions from Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria, 7-1, 5-3 and 7-1 respectively meaning they won the event on the day.

Lancaster Girls Grammar School’s under 16 girls won all three of their matches convincingly: 8-0, 8-0 and 7-1.

This means that all three teams have progressed to the next round, to be held in Blackburn on March 19.

Winners from that event progress to the National Finals, where the last four teams in each category do battle for the national title.
