Table Tennis: Juniors flock to Morecambe High tournament

Local juniors turned out in force for the latest table tennis tournament held at Morecambe High School Sports Hall.

The first phase matches were played in mixed ability groups where the players qualified for the final stage with eight groups.

In Group One Toby Ellis from Great Wood school won by defeating the higher ranked players, Abinhav Sinha and Hudson Nuttall.

Group Two included Alex Milligan and Lexie Ball with Bradley Wilkinson emerging as the group winner following a close set against Milligan winning 11-9 in the third game.

In Group Three Zoe Grime won the accolades, finishing in second place to Amir Khan. Ethan Walling played well to finish in third place and Eve Clement in fourth.

Will Walker won Group Four following difficult matches with Genevieve Holchak, Sam Hayward and Rachel Lister.

Ashton Pinnington won Group Five with a 100 per cent record, Bethany Ellis, Harry Holroyd and Isabel Loxam completed the remaining matches.

Dylan Wareing topped Group Six while William Johnson won Group Seven with Robert Lambert, Thomas Barrett and Claudia Howson competing for the remaining places.

Jessica Loxam won Group Eight ahead of Ruby Tague and Joey Richardson.
