Swimming: Over 50 medals for youngsters at Ulverston Gala

Outstanding performances were recorded at the recent Ulverston Swimming Gala, when 30 Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club swimmers travelled to participate in a mega successful weekend of competitive swimming. 

The swimmers were rewarded for their dedication and hard work with over 50 medals and over 90 personal best recorded between them.  Jordan Titley and Callum Seton earned two gold medals each (as well as a number of silvers), for Boys 14-15 100m Breaststroke and Freestyle and boys 16 and over 100m backstroke and butterfly.

 Seven of the swimmers attending were nine years olds earning 16 medals between them.

For many, this was their first competitive open swim event.

Silver Medals went to Jake Alderson, Isaac Atkinson,and Larissa Hannam with bronze medals to Heidi Coldwell and Daniel Leach.

There were strong swims in this age group from Emily Wilson and Macy Evans too.

In achievements reflecting the increasing technical and performance training programmes at Lancaster swimming club and amongst the multitude of other personal bests, Olivia Robinson, Annis Atkinson, Paige Robson and Millie Sykes achieved three or more personal best times.
