Swimming: Medals galore for city’s young swimmers

The youngsters had a fine day, posting 66 personal best times and winning 10 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze medals.

Adam Leech took gold in the open 100m butterfly taking two seconds off his personal best in a time of 1.05 while also coming first in the open 200m individual medley.

Rio Quarry had another outstanding gala, taking seconds off his 100m breaststroke best to win gold.

Rio also won the 50m freestyle gold to go alongside two silvers, a bronze and six personal bests.

Hannah Eaton posted seven personal bests in her seven events, picking up gold in the 100m breaststroke and silver in the 50m backstroke.

Jack Lancashire was in fine form, winning gold in the 200m butterfly, silver in the 200m individual medley and bronze in the 50m butterfly.

Malachy Duffin won gold in the 200m breaststroke to cap off a fine day that saw him also take home three silvers and three bronzes as he posted eight personal bests in his 11 events.

Heidi Coldwell swam strongly in her 10 events to collect five bronze medals and eight personal bests while Aidan Duffin won gold in both the 50m and 200m breastroke.

Millie Sykes produced a great set of results with a gold medal in the 200m breaststroke and silvers in the 100m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.

Elizabeth Wareing took bronze in the 50m butterfly, Amy Shaw won bronze in the 50m breaststroke and Olivia Robinson collected silver in the 200m individual medley.

Isaac Quarry took silver and bronze in the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke respectively with Holly Satterly achieving three personal bests from her six events.

Charlotte Peacock swam really well to take several seconds off nine of her personal bests with Amy Peacock posting new best times in each of her four events.

Marcus Robinson won a silver in the 200m backstroke to add to his three personal bests with Callum Seaton swimming strongly and Harry Shaw collecting four more personal bests in his races.
