Lancaster Road registered a fine 3-0 win over Hartlepool, drew 0-0 with an impressive Shrewsbury team and then succumbed, as the senior side so often do, to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Accrington, meaning they narrowly missed-out on a place in the semi-finals.
A series of thrilling games culminated in a final between York City and Accrington.
With both teams playing excellent football, it was always going to be a tight game and Stanley came out on top with a deserved 1-0 win.
