Squash: Mixed fortunes for squash teams
First, Vale 1 crushed Village 2 from Blackpool on home ground, winning 5-0.
A week later, playing away, Vale lost 0-5 to Preston Grasshoppers 3.

Hide AdShaun Gorry at number two put up the greatest resistance, winning the first game 15-10 but there followed a see-saw match in which each player held the initiative in successive games only to lose it in the next.
But the fifth and decisive game went to the Hoppers player and thus the victory.
Vale 1 are currently sixth out of nine in Division Four North but other teams behind them in the table have a game in hand which could affect the season’s outcome.
Vale 2 suffered a reverse against St Annes 3, losing 5-0 a week ago.
