Carnforth made it two wins from two in Division Four North as a blistering start helped them to a 36-10 win at Bury 2nds on Saturday.
Jack Edmondson scored his first try of the season just five minutes in before another quick penalty saw captain Dan Blenkharn power over.
Carnforth’s fine start in Greater Manchester continued as Mathew Short went on a superb solo run to score a try that he converted.
Hooker David Hones was the next to go over as he powered down the wing and the visitors were 29-0 up after just 25 minutes when Edmondson got his second under the posts.
Bury reduced the arrears with a penalty shortly before the half-time interval with the second period a good defensive test for Carnforth as the hosts came out fighting.
It was the visitors who got the game’s next try though, Short taking a loose pass and releasing Edmondson for his hat-trick try.
Bury continued to come forwards with Carnforth’s battle to prevent a try on the day in vain as Bury were awarded a penalty try with five minutes to go.
The outcome of the game had long been decided however as Carnforth take a perfect record into their home game with Blackburn 3rds this Saturday.
