The Trimpell Club, already promoted to the Premier Division in second place, take on the side that pipped them to the league title, Bold Miners of St Helens at the home of Super League Club Widnes Vikings on Saturday.

The Atoms secured their place in the final after Barrow’s Hindpool Tigers were unable to field a team last Saturday.

It gives the Heysham side the opportunity to finish an historic season on a real high having lost both regular season games to Bold who went on to win the title by just one point.

Secretary Dave Crow said: “We really want to get one over on them.

“We lost the title decider a few weeks ago but should have Al Crookall and Mark Walker back.

“It’ll be a great end to the season.”

The Atoms will go into the game a little rusty having seen their season peter out with a series of walkover wins as sides failed to make the trip to the Trimpell.
