Quartet from Lancaster and Morecambe take on London Marathon

Four Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club runners took part in the London Marathon.

First back was Henry Chan who had a superb run, setting a fast pace from the start to earn a fantastic new personal best time of 2h.38.48.

Jon Sear stormed round the second half of the race and was rewarded with a great time of 3h.13.33. Next was Robert Preston in 4h.14.48 and not far behind was Paul James in 4h.15.52.

At the Sherriff 10k there was a decent turnout of Lancaster runners and Jayne Perry led them home with an excellent effort of 42m.34 to win the women’s race and finish in ninth overall.

Next was Joe Kirkley with a good effort of 45m.29, followed by Louise Goddard who finished third woman with a fine run of 46m.31.

Other finishers were Chris McGuire 47m.17, David Wilkinson 48m.49, Helena Lewis 51m.09, Carole Wilkinson 52m.32 and Guy Kirkley 56m.20.
