Otters swimming stars Isabelle and Emma setting world alight

Two Carnforth Otters swimmers, Isabelle Woodman and Emma Whitaker, have been setting the pentathlon world alight over the past few months.

Isabelle, 14, has taken the national under 15s title for modern triathlon while Emma, competing in the U17 category and at the younger end of her age group, was also outstanding taking national bronze.

This a testament to her hard work in the pool and her talent as a multi-disciplinary athlete.

Modern triathlon involves a swim, 100m for Isabelle, 200m for Emma, and a combined run and shoot involving two 800m runs for Isabelle and three for 15-year-old Emma.

Carnforth Otters ASC has a strong legacy in the triathlon and pentathlon worlds and supports well over 40 youngsters in their ambitions as multi-event athletes.

At the elite end Carnforth Otters swimmer Ruby Frankland is a member of the North West Triathlon Academy.

Emma is on the Pentathlon World Class Talent pathway and both Isabelle and 12-year-old Tim Woodman are on the Pentathlon England Talent programme.
