A blistering 74 from South African Lesiba Ngoepe put the game beyond the visitors after they posted a below par 154.

Lancaster’s innings got off to a shaky start when professional Abhimanyu Khod had a wild heave at young Toby Tyson and top edged to point at 5 for 1.

Alex Metcalfe was then castled for eight by Adnan Ghaus before Charlie Swarbrick and Moffat helped Lancaster into a good position as they scored regualar boundaries off the Kendal spinners.

The Lancaster number three passed 50 with ease but the returning Ghaus finally got his man - Swarbrick driving away from his body at a length ball and nicking behind for 51.

Moffat guided Lancaster past 100 and brought up a fifty of his own - at 130 for 3 the platform was set but once again Lancaster’s middle order woes returned.

Will Fraser-Gray became the first of five Fernando victims, missing a clip and bowled before Moffat’s fine innings ended on 61 slapping a full ball straight back to the bowler.

The collapse continued as Danny Welbourne was trapped in front by Chris Miller, Ben Simm was castled by Fernando and Lee Marshall suffered a similar fate to give Miller his second.

Rajat Agarwal watched on as Liam Moffat became the ninth to fall - again bowled by Fernando.

Callum East too joined the procession as the last man to fall to Fernando - the collapse complete at 154 all out.

Kendal’s reply got off to a good start as their batsmen found the boundary regularly and rode their luck to 40 for no loss.

East finally had Paul Dodds caught by a stretching Swarbrick at point but the runs continued to flow with ease.

Liam Moffat looked short of pace with a toe injury and East haemorrhaged runs between good deliveries.

Ngoepe took full toll, crashing boundaries over the leg side.

Sharp chances went begging and Ngoepe rode his luck but Lancaster were fast losing their grip on the game.

East removed Shane Hyland with a peach of a delivery but from then on it was all Kendal.

Ngoepe bludgeoned all comers and was supported by Syed Ali who cashed in with an unbeaten 24 – Lancaster hammered by eight wickets with almost 30 overs to spare.
