Bolton-le-Sands started their Westmorland League season with a 71-run defeat to Milnthorpe.
The visitors hit the ground running and earned maximum points as they declared on 201-6 with Mike Wills blasting 92 in an innings that included 10 fours and six sixes.
Adam Dixon was the pick of the home bowlers with three wickets.
In reply, Sands made a solid start to their innings and openers Lee Partis and Mark Brickles didn’t look in any trouble until Sam Woodburn was brought on at the pavilion end.
In a fine spell of 13 overs, he took six wickets for 41 runs and, once Partis was dismissed for 62, resistance crumbled.
Robert Clarkson was the only other home batsman to get into double figures as Milnthorpe won by 71 runs with eleven overs to spare.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Arnside were 31-run winners over Silverdale on Saturday.
The visitors posted 171-4 before taking the 15 points as Silverdale were dismissed for 140.
