Heysham were blown away by Warton at the weekend as Warton’s opening bowlers turned on the style.
Warton’s Gareth Finney won the toss and inserted Heysham knowing that the first hour could be crucial after a wet week.
This proved to be the case after a dazzling opening spell from Graeme Crowther (5-20) and Steven Beck (3-24).
The pair bowled beautifully and kept the pressure on with aggressive disciplined bowling.
The first five wickets were all bowled which showed how the opening pair bowled at the wickets and used the wicket to full advantage.
Sam McClements top scored for Heysham with 14.
In reply Sam Calverley(2-27) took early wickets but Warton were never really in trouble and chased down the modest total for the loss of three wickets, Tom Barnfield top scoring for Warton with 19 not out.
Bare went down to an eight-wicket defeat to Windermere.
On a cloudy and cold afternoon Bare captain Frank Smith won the toss and elected to bat.
John Sharman went first for 16, bowled by Lewthwaite (1-28).
A great opening spell from Park (2-23) meant it took Alan Regan 10 overs to get off the mark.
Bare were struggling at 24-3 but a resilient effort from Andrew Sharman (20) and Smith (29) took the score to 76-3.
Both then were removed by first change bowler J Crawford (2-27) who was backed up with super spin of S Curruthers (3-22).
The only other noticeable performance was that of Archit Bhadwaj who hit a quick fire 20 taking the final total to 107-9.
After tea, the wicket completely changed as the Windermere scored freely.
S Fletcher (43) took no prisoners in the company of J Park who was eventually dismissed by a great catch from Andrew Sharman off the bowling of Bhadwaj (2-32).
O.Killinear (29 not out) and N.Lewthwaite (16 not out) then finished off a dismal performance by picking places to hit sixes and seal an eight-wicket win.
