Vale’s first team suffered at the hands of the law in their latest match in the North West Counties Squash League.

The Powderhouse Lane first team lost 4-1 at home to Lancashire Constabulary 1, currently second in Division Four North. Only John Lambert racked up a victory and he was taken to 3-2 by his opponent.

Players at two, three and four all went down 3-0 with only Stuart Featon, stepping up from Vale 2, taking a game.

Vale 1 are currently fifth out of nine teams. Vale 2 had been scheduled to face Lancon 2 at police headquarters but could not raise a team due to a combination of injuries, the promotion of Stuart Featon to the first team, and the currently small pool of available players.
