HEYSHAM’S star amateur golfer has been named in the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team.
Jack Senior, 23, is part of the ten-man squad that will take on the United States at Royal Aberdeen on the weekend of September 10 and 11.
The competition is the pinnacle of the amateur game and Senior is following in the footsteps of fellow Heysham golfer Gary Wolstenholme, the most successful player in Walker Cup history.
Senior, a former Trumacar and Ripley Pupil, has been selected on the back of a victory in atrocious conditions in the Lytham Golf Trophy at Open Championship course Royal Lytham St Annes.
He began the season by winning the New South Wales Amateur Championship in Australia.
