THE Atoms’ outstanding start to the season continued with another dominant display, and they are now on a six game winning streak, crucially with four of these victories being away from home.

The Atoms made a lacklustre start and were punished, conceding two tries in the first 10 minutes.

The first time the Atoms put a set together they were on the scoresheet themselves when hooker Marrin found Billy Livingstone with a wide pass which he finished off in the corner.

The Atoms got back to level pegging when stand-off Stuart Lacey danced his way through the defensive line, cutting inside the sliding defenders.

The last 15 minutes saw a lack of disipline from the Atoms and Orrell’s hooker took full advantage, scoring against a retreating Atoms’ line and setting up another try for his team mate.

The second half was a six try demolition job for the Atoms, inspired by the strong running of loose forward Mark Walker.

Straight from the re-start there was a more determined feel in the Atoms’ camp and two quick tries, both scored by powerful centre Al Crookall, gave the Atoms the confidence to push on as they levelled the scores for the second time.

Livingstone moved in closer to the action and he went on a lateral run finding full-back Jake Harrison straightening up the line and rounding the last defender to score under the posts.

The momentum was all with the Atoms now and Walker grabbed a well rehearsed try, receiving a pass from hooker Marrin right at the line.

The Atoms left centre/wing pairing of Dan Helme and Steven Jackson were tested to the full as Orrell constantly targeted this area with runners and kicks.

The pair were up to the task and confidently dealt with anything thrown at them, gaining deserved praise from their team mates and on the sidelines, for keeping their line intact.

Walker posted his second try, having too much power for the Orrell defenders, forcing his way over the line.

The final Atoms’ score was a close range effort from stand-off Stuart Lacey who also grabbed himself a double close to the line.
