PRESTON captain Lukman Vahaluwala, who has already captured 20 wickets, took his side to Woodhill Lane where Pakistan A all-rounder Anwar Ali has made a fine start as professional with Morecambe.

Preston were 106-4 after 31.2 overs when rain stopped play with Mohsin Modhi 25 not out.

Anwar Ali and Chris Williams each took two wickets.

After a lengthy delay Morecambe then batted and knocked off the runs for the loss of four wickets in 23.5 overs despite Preston pro Saeed Bariwala taking 3-53 and Vahaluwala 2-48.

Ikram Ullah made 30, skipper Mark Woodhead 20 and Phil Dennison 23 with Anwar Ali was unbeaten on 12 at the close.
