Dave Chisnall reached the last 16 of all three UK Open qualifiers in Wigan at the weekend.

Events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday saw players compete for spots in the FA Cup of darts which takes place from March 4 in Minehead.

On Friday at the Robin Park Tennis Centre Chisnall defeated world number one Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in the last 32 before exiting the competition with a 6-3 defeat to Rowby John Rodriguez.

Saturday saw Chisnall lose out 6-4 to Simon Whitlock while his run on Sunday was ended with a 6-5 defeat to Benito van de Pas.

World Champion Gary Anderson was forced to miss all three of the weekend’s treble-header of UK Open Qualifying events through illness, with the titles being shared between the three highest ranked players on the PDC Order of Merit in the world number two’s absence.

Adrian Lewis won on Friday, van Gerwen on Saturday and Phil Taylor on Sunday.

The remaining three qualifying events will take place in Wigan from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 February.
