Dave Chisnall looks to get back to winning ways in week five of the Betway Premier Darts on Thursday night when he takes on Dutch great Raymond van Barneveld in Exeter.
Morecambe’s world number five is eighth in the table with just one win from his four outings so far having lost 7-5 to home favourite Gary Anderson in Glasgow last time out.
Van Barneveld is third after triumphing in an all-Dutch battle with world number one and reigning Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen in Scotland.
The five-time world champion said: “Last week was great for my confidence.
“Not many people are beating Michael at the moment so I was very proud of that, and I want to continue that form against Dave this week.”
Elsewhere Phil Taylor is hoping to continue his revival when he takes on Anderson at the Westpoint Arena.
The 16-time World Champion had suffered his worst start to a Premier League season in the nine years of the competition by losing his opening three matches last month.
However, Taylor broke that run with a fine performance to defeat basement rival Simon Whitlock 7-3 in Glasgow last week.
World Championship finalist Peter Wright is the Premier League’s only unbeaten player following his emphatic 7-1 win over Adrian Lewis in Glasgow a week ago and faces fellow Scot Robert Thornton in the Exeter opener.
And Thornton will be doubling up on the night as Wes Newton is missing week five with tonsillitis. After starting the night against Wright he returns to close it against Simon Whitlock.
In the other match Michael van Gerwen takes on Adrian Lewis. The whole night is live on Sky Sports.
There’s no let up for Chisnall who goes straight from Exeter to the opening day of the Coral UK Open the following day.
Chizzy enters the ITV-televised tournament against Justin Pipe at the Butlins Minehead Resort on Friday, March 7.
