Dave Chisnall won a final-leg thriller with Raymond van Barneveld to make it two wins out of two in the Betway Premier League Darts in Bournemouth on Thursday.
The Morecambe ace joined Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson on four league points as he edged out the reigning Premier League champion 7-5 in a tense final match of the evening.
Chisnall took out 80 to win the opening leg before the Dutch great levelled on double 16.
Chisnall opened with two 180s to set up a possible nine-dart chance in leg three, and though he was unable to add a seventh treble 20, he returned to finish 84 to claim the leg on double 12 for a 12-darter.
The game continued to be nip and tuck with the next three to make it 3-3.
Van Barneveld again kicked off with a maximum in leg seven only to miss two darts at double eight to break, allowing Chisnall in to take out 101 on double 18.
The reigning champion levelled on double 16 before securing his first break in leg nine, Chisnall missing the bull and three darts at tops to allow his opponent back in from a miss at double 16 to land double eight and move ahead.
Chisnall edged another tense leg to make it 5-5 as the Dutchman hit a 180 only to miss six doubles across three visits as the Grand Slam of Darts runner-up finished a last-gasp double five to square with a break of his own.
The drama continued with the Morecambe man then moving back ahead to make sure of a point, van Barneveld missing tops and three darts at double 10, allowing his rival to finish double one with his third dart to claim a point.
In leg 12 Chisnall left 87 after nine darts before missing two match darts on double 18, but when the Dutchman failed to finish 124, Chisnall snatched the win on double nine.
Elsewhere there were wins for Gary Anderson, 7-1 over Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen, 7-3 over Stephen Bunting, Phil Taylor, 7-2 over Adrian Lewis, with James Wade defeating Kim Huybrechts by the same score.
The Betway Premier League Darts continues next Thursday with week three at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, where Chisnall takes on Bunting.
