Dave Chisnall exited the HappyBet European Darts Open in Dusseldorf at the second round stage.

The Morecambe ace crashed out to Jan Dekker losing 6-3 at the Maritim Hotel on Saturday.

In a dogged match, the doubles proved clinical with Dekker landing 42 per cent to Chisnall’s 27 per cent as he reached the third round for the first time on the European Tour.

He crashed out in the next round with a 6-0 defeat to Gary Anderson.

Michael van Gerwen secured his 12th career European Tour title and fourth of 2016 by edging out Peter Wright 6-5 in a superb final on Sunday.
