A Morecambe Taekwon-Do student has been awarded a black belt after a grading test in Coventry.

Fifteen-year-old Michael Stables was given his new belt by chief examiner Grand Master Oldham (9th Degree Black Belt), Head of Global Taekwon-Do UK.

Michael has been a member of the club for several years and has passed nine previous coloured belt gradings, progressing from white belt to black tag before finally taking his national black belt in Coventry.

The national exam involved Michael completing assessments on patterns, sparring, destruction, self-defence and Korean terminology.

Classes at the club are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. For more information call Mandy Clement on 07828 687284.
