MORECAMBE returned to winning ways securing maximum points against last season’s champions Leyland.
With rain reducing the game to 35 overs per side Leyland won the toss and asked Morecambe to bat.
Progress was steady, Maje kept the score board moving along with a useful 36.
Morecambe tried to inject impetus into the innings with first Milner (7) who was well caught by Hurt and Fisher (8).
Pearson and Tharlmalingum both perished to Williams. Izzat batted through the innings, passing 50 for the second time this season, and with Maartens (9no) added the final push.
Izzat finished with a flourish, hitting McDonnell for two sixes in the final over.
