Two coaches from a Lancaster mixed martial arts academy have enjoyed success at a prestigious event in Italy.
Kaizen MMA coach Adam Gregory and Kaizen kickboxing coach Kieran O’Brien travelled to Rome to compete in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu European Championships.
Despite splitting their time between kickboxing, wrestling, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu the Ridge Lane gym stalwarts more than held their own against the specialists.
O’Brien won every match without conceding a single point to become European Champion for the second straight year.
Gregory had to settle for the silver medal, winning every match up to the finals without conceding a point.
It means the pair, along with the gym’s BJJ coach Michael Wood and a few students, will be heading out to California in June for the World Championships.
