Morecambe TT star John McGuinness had to settle for eighth place in his latest race in the annual Isle of Man meeting.
‘The Morecambe Missile’ clocked a time of 1 hour, 11 minutes & 35.129 seconds on his EMC Honda in the RL360 Superstock race on Tuesday behind winner Ian Hutchinson.
Michael Dunlop was second and Lee Johnston third.
It followed mixed fortunes on Monday for the Morecambe TT legend.
McGuinness finished seventh behind Hutchinson in the opening Monster Energy Supersport race on Monday evening with a time of 1:13:29.156.
But earlier in the day, he unofficially broke the TT Zero lap record with a qualifying lap where his bike clocked 118.056 mph.
In Monday’s race, Hutchinson came home 7.7 seconds clear of New Zealand’s Bruce Anstey, reversing the result of Sunday’s RST Superbike race, with Gary Johnson in third.
Hutchinson now has 10 TT wins and completed his comeback from the career threatening leg injuries he suffered at the end of 2010, the year he won all five solo races.
The race followed a two-hour delay to Monday’s programme following a road crash at Ballacrye minutes before roads were due to close for the start of racing.
McGuinness, 43, remains on 21 TT wins, second on the all-time list behind Joey Dunlop (26).
