The 24-year-old from Morecambe improved his record to 16 wins and three draws on Saturday night when he defeated Lucan Rafael Baez by way of knockout at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, on Saturday night.

The featherweight was fighting on the same bill as his good friend Tyson Fury, who was fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship of the world against Deontay Wilder.

Lowe was due to face Ryan Walsh for a second time in what would have been a blcokbuster contest in the UK, but he decided to pull out of the contest after being offered the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ to fight Stateside.

With Ben Davison and Freddie Roach in his corner, Lowe secured the 16th win of his promising career thanks to a fifth round stoppage in the scheduled 10-round
bout.

He claimed the WBC International belt and hopes for more progress next year.

“What a great journey it’s been these last few months,” said Lowe, who has been training with Fury in KLA.
