Heysham’s Jack Senior takes up latest Challenge

The former Walker Cup star carded an 11 under par four round total at the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana.

Rounds of 66 and 65 put Senior right in contention at La Gomera, Canary Islands, before a third 18 of 74 saw him slip down the field.

The 27-year-old, who recently won the Scottish Hydro Challenge to announce himself as a top name on the Challenge Tour, then recovered with a final round 68.

The event was won by Rhys Davies on 22 under par.

Senior’s next outing is at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge from this Thursday, July 23.
