Morecambe go in search of their first away league point of the season at Southend on Saturday.
Phil Brown’s Shrimpers have won their first two home League 2 games against Northampton and Plymouth but have tasted defeat in their last two outings at Wycombe and Chesterfield.
The Shrimps may have lost their two away games so far, on the opening day at Wycombe and at Portsmouth, but they have never lost to Southend in six Football League meetings, winning five times and drawing once.
Jim Bentley’s side did the double over the Shrimpers last season, including a 1-0 victory at Roots Hall on the final day of the campaign thanks to Andy Fleming’s goal.
It was a game also made famous for the visit Jeremy Kyle, an old friend of former Hull boss Brown, paid to the home dressing room before the game.
One familiar face the Shrimps could come up against is winger Kevan Hurst, who spent the second half of the 2010-11 season on loan at the Globe Arena.
Possible line-up: Bentley, White, Coker, Prosser, Thompson, Straker, Atkinson, Clifford, Leonard, Eastwood, Corr.
