CONTROVERSIAL Morecambe left-back Tony Capaldi will join Oxford United when his Shrimps contract expires in the summer.
Capaldi, who has signed a two-year deal with the Us, has not played for the Shrimps since March 22 after he criticised the club on Twitter.
The Northern Ireland international was disciplined by the club for the comments and made a full public apology.
Capaldi, who has also played for Hereford, Cardiff City, Leeds United and Plymouth, made 18 appearances for the Shrimps this season.
He told the U’s website: ““I want to get another promotion while I’m still playing and this is the place to do it.
“I can bring some experience to the side and am looking forward to the pre-season and pushing on with the club.”
