The game went from end-to-end with a lot of classy football being played by both sides.

It was always tight and it looked as though one goal would be enough to take all three points and the only goal was scored by Matthew Burrows to send Cartmel back to the top as joint leaders with Caton United.

Mayfield United turned the tables on Lancaster Rovers after suffering a 3-0 defeat earlier in the season.

The more workmanlike Mayfield side thoroughly deserved to win after Daniel Martin, Anthony McCluskey and Scott Moore had scored, Simon Gillespie scored the goal he deserved for a well beaten Rovers side.
