Jackie McNamara

Former Celtic captain took over from Russ Wilcox in November with size of his task illustrated by the fact he has lost all of his seven matches in charge. A versatile Scotland international in his playing days, the 42-year-old has previously managed Partick Thistle and Dundee United in his homeland.

Key Man

Vadaine Oliver

Number nine looks the most likely to fire the Minstermen to safety with seven goals to his name so far this season. The 24-year-old, who has previously played for Lincoln City and Crewe Alexandra, impressed on loan at Mansfield Town last season.

Suffered a club record ninth successive defeat at Bristol Rovers last time out on Saturday. McNamara’s men had looked like reversing their fortunes at the Memorial Ground with Oliver volleying them into a first-half lead. But Jermaine Easter levelled things up before Matt Taylor’s stoppage-time winner ensured the misery went on and York slipped to the foot of the table.

It’s pretty much even Stevens between the sides across 21 meetings down the years. The Shrimps have six wins and York seven with eight draws. Last season York were 2-1 winners in the corresponding fixture back in April, a win that saw the hosts secure their League 2 status for another season.
