Liam Breslin, recently with Lancaster City and Kendal Town, and Callum Moore were also on target as all the goals came in the second half.

Peter Hennerty did score for the hosts just after the hour mark but Slyne were already three goals to the good.

Near neighbours Garstang also kicked off the new campaign with a victory, 3-2 at home to Coppull United at the Riverside.

It was a family affair for the Riversiders with new signings Rick Coar scoring twice and brother Alan once.

Coppull went in front early on but Rick Coar soon levelled things up, tapping in his brother’s ball to the back post.

The Riversiders took the lead early in the second period with Alan Coar finishing well but the visitors hit back with Dan Birch the unfortunate party, his deflection evading Dan Curwen as it nestled into the net.

The hosts got the winner however, Rick Coar heading in a Tom Graham cross six minutes from time.

Slyne next host Crooklands Casuals tonight, Tuesday, while Garstang travel to Longridge Town for a local derby on Wednesday night.

Slyne then host Coppull themselves on Saturday while Garstang are without a game.
