Morecambe forward Paul Mullin netted an award after becoming the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month winner for February.
His winning goal at Leyton Orient made the initial shortlist of three along with Crawley Town’s Josh Payne and Portsmouth’s Gary Roberts.
It was Mullin who collected the award after a poll on skysports.com saw him earn 57 per cent of the public vote.
There seemed no danger when Mullin collected a bouncing ball with three defenders around him.
However, a turn and 25-yard curling shot proved enough to claim three points as Morecambe enjoyed a fine run of form in February.
Lead judge and Sky Sports pundit, Don Goodman, said: “When he picks up a difficult ball, Mullin still has a huge amount to do,
“The goal displayed strength to hold his man off, skill to outwit three defenders, and accuracy and power in the strike. It was a goal good enough to win any game.”
Mullin said: “I was made up to get the goal and getting a result at Orient set up a good month for us.”
“It was one of those where nothing else was on and I managed to get a bit of space for myself so I just hit it and thankfully it went in.”
The shortlist for the poll was decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.
As well as Goodman, the judging panel comprises Sky Bet sponsorship manager, David Tweed, and EFL senior media manager, Rob Meaden.
