Morecambe are sweating on the fitness of three key players ahead of Tuesday night’s FA Cup first round replay at Rochdale.
Barry Roche, Jack Redshaw and skipper Will Haining missed the win over Barnet on Saturday and boss Jim Bentley will be checking on the trio ahead of the trip to Spotland.
“Baz’s is a recurrence of the knock he got in the first game against Rochdale,” said Bentley.
“We thought he’d broken his leg, he’s had an x-ray and hasn’t so he trained on Thursday no problem at all and then he’s taken kids coaching in the community Thursday night and he just said he felt sore and went for a meal after it and then said he could hardly walk.
“The x-ray says he hasn’t broken it so we’ll just have to see how he goes.
“Will Haining and Jack came off with slight calf strains on Tuesday (against Accrington) which are more fatigue I think, but the pair of them aren’t far away.
“We’ve got one or two knocks which every side up and down the country is going to get but with our small squad we sometimes get stretched for numbers.”
