MORECAMBE boss Sammy McIlroy says his side will be going all out to finish the season as strongly as possible.

Saturday’s victory over Burton Albion means the Shrimps moved a huge step closer to securing their League 2 safety but McIlroy says until his side are mathematically safe nobody will be taking their foot off the gas.

He said: “The boys have shown great resilience in the past couple of weeks and put in two great performances to give us two much-needed wins.

“But we know we have more to do yet. We are in a much better place now but we want to finish the season as strongly as possible and finish as high up the table as we can.

We have five tough games to go and we will be giving it our all to keep the momentum going.”
